Parkview Field * Fort Wayne, Ind.
7:05 p.m. * Game # 84 (14)
Radio: WONE-AM 980
Dayton Dragons (10-3, 45-38) at Fort Wayne TinCaps (4-9, 34-48)
RH Daniel Corcino (8-3, 2.57) vs. RH Zach Cates (2-5, 5.03)
Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Fort Wayne TinCaps (affiliate of the San Diego Padres) in the second game of a three-game series. Season Series: Dayton 8, Fort Wayne 2 (at Fort Wayne: Dayton 5, Fort Wayne 2).
The Streak: The Dragons consecutive game sell-out streak now stands at 814, matching the all-time sports record. The Dragons could break the record held by the Portland Trail Blazers of the NBA on July 9.
Last Night: Dayton defeated Fort Wayne 8-5 as the Dragons notched their sixth consecutive win. Dayton came back from a 4-1 deficit to win, scoring five times in the seventh inning to take the lead. Ronald Torreyes and Dominic D'Anna connected on back-to-back home runs in the seventh and Jaren Matthews added a two-run triple to break a 5-5 tie. Drew Hayes recorded his 13th save by getting the final five outs.
Today's Dragons Starting Pitcher: Daniel Corcino makes his 16th start of the season tonight. He was not involved in the decision in his last start on Saturday vs. Bowling Green (6 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO). Corcino pitched one inning in the Midwest League All-Star Game on June 21 at Quad Cities, allowing one run in one inning and suffering the loss. He won six consecutive starts from April 18-May 18. Corcino has been dominant over his last 13 starts (73 IP, 14 ER, 1.73 ERA). Corcino has allowed no runs in five of his last 11 starts. Corcino is a 20-year-old native of the Dominican Republic. He entered the 2011 season rated as the #15 prospect in Reds organization by Baseball America. Corcino has drawn comparisons to fellow Dominican and former Dragon Johnny Cueto because of a fastball that can get into the mid 90 mph range and sub-six foot frame.
