Dayton Dragons (10-4, 45-39) at Fort Wayne TinCaps (5-9, 35-48)

RH Stalin Gerson (2-0, 1.02) vs. LH Noah Mull (1-2, 3.35)

Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Fort Wayne TinCaps (affiliate of the San Diego Padres) in the last game of a three-game series. Season Series: Dayton 8, Fort Wayne 3 (at Fort Wayne: Dayton 5, Fort Wayne 3).

The Streak: The Dragons consecutive game sell-out streak now stands at 814, matching the all-time sports record. The Dragons could break the record held by the Portland Trail Blazers of the NBA on July 9.

Last Night: Fort Wayne defeated Dayton 8-2 to even the series at one win apiece. The TinCaps scored four runs in the second and two more in the third to take an early 6-1 lead. The Dragons collected 11 hits but they were just 2 for 13 with men in scoring position as their six-game winning streak came to an end. Dominic D'Anna and David Vidal each had three hits and an RBI for Dayton. Vidal had two doubles.

Today's Dragons Starting Pitcher: Stalin Gerson makes his fourth start for the Dragons and his sixth start overall in the Reds organization in 2011 tonight. He faced South Bend in his last start on Sunday and earned the win (6.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO). Gerson joined the Dragons from extended spring training for two starts (1-0, 0.82) and then was assigned to Billings, where he earned Pioneer League Pitcher of the Week (2-0, 0.75). He returned to the Dragons at the start of July and replaced Tanner Robles in the Dragons starting rotation. Gerson pitched last season with Billings of the Pioneer League under current Dragons manager Delino DeShields. He spent the entire season in the Mustangs starting rotation and posted a record of 3-4 with a 4.88 earned run average in 15 starts. He walked only 18 and struck out 52 in 75.2 innings, allowing an opposing batting average of .298. Gerson had a 1.74 ERA at home last season, 7.05 on the road. Gerson was signed by the Reds as an international free agent prior to the 2008 season and spent two years in the Dominican Summer League.
