April 21, 2008 - The Dayton Dragons snapped the Cedar Rapids Kernels three-game winning streak, 10-3, on Monday night at Fifth Third Field in Dayton. The Dragons scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth and seven runs in the bottom of the seventh to break open a 1-0 Kernels lead.
Kernels starter Robert Fish allowed a hit and struck out seven over five innings with four walks in a no-decision effort. Reliever Esmerlin Jimenez gave up seven runs (four eanred) and five hits over 1.2 innings to take the loss.
Dayton reliever Jeff Jeffords (1-0) scattered three hits over 2.2 innings and struck out three to get the win in relief of starter Scott Carroll.
The Kernels drew seven walks, but stranded 12 runners on base. Jeremy Moore and Cody Collet had RBI's for the Kernels. Clay Fuller was 2 for 5 with a double and Jerry Gonzalez was 2 for 4. Moore had three stolen bases to raise his total to a team-high 9 but was caught once.
