Dragons Announce Roster Changes

Dayton, Ohio-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster moves today:

Right-handed pitcher Stalin Gerson has been promoted to Dayton from Billings (Pioneer League).

Infielder Frank Pfister has been assigned to Dayton from Bakersfield (California League).

Right-handed pitcher Jamie Walczak has been promoted from Dayton to Bakersfield.

Left-handed pitcher Tanner Robles has been sent from Dayton to Billings.

The Dragons roster is now stands at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.

Gerson, who won the Pioneer League Pitcher of the Week Award this past week, made two starts with Billings and went 2-0 with a 0.75 earned run average. Earlier this month, he also made two starts with the Dragons and went 1-0 with a 0.82 ERA.

Pfister appeared in three games with Bakersfield, going 4 for 11 (.364). He has appeared in 14 games with the Dragons this season, batting .178. Pfister also spent the entire 2010 season with the Dragons as well as the first half of the 2009 campaign.

Walczak appeared in 11 games with the Dragons, going 2-0 with a 1.89 ERA.

Robles made 13 starts for the Dragons, going 3-7 with a 7.16 ERA.

The Dragons host Bowling Green at Fifth Third Field tonight at 7:05 p.m. (WHIO Digital Channel 7.2; Time Warner Channel 23; WONE Radio 980 AM).

The Dragons' consecutive game sell-out streak is at 811, three games short of the all-time sports record. The Dragons can tie the record held by the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night and break the record on July 9 (barring rain-outs).
