Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release
MYRTLE BEACH, SC- Though the Pelicans have had just one rainout in the 2010 campaign, with the one postponement coming last Thursday against the Winston-Salem Dash, the Grand Strand was pounded by a pair of torrential downpours on Friday, postponing the second game of their four-game set against the Potomac Nationals.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, August 7 with the first pitch in Game One set for 6:05 ET.
The Pelicans are 2-0-1 in their three doubleheaders of the 2010 campaign, with their lone home doubleheader coming last Friday, a sweep of the Winston-Salem Dash.
Fans who had tickets for Friday's contest will be able to redeem them for tickets to a future 2010 Pelicans contest, based on availability.
Although Free Stuff Friday was rained out, the first 1,000 fans through the gates here at BB&T Coastal Field will be going home with yet another fantastic giveaway! This time, those lucky fans will walk out of here with a free reusable lunch bag presented by Angelo's Steak and Pasta. There will also be festivities happening in the parking lot all day long with the Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest here at the ballpark! It will also be Foster Awareness Night here on the Grand Strand, so come on out and enjoy a full slate of events with the Pelicans!
In addition to the giveaway, one of the most entertaining, intriguing, outstanding, outlandish, and action-packed acts will put on an unforgettable show on a Show Time Saturday here in Myrtle Beach for game three of this four-game series as the Cowboy Monkey Rodeo will come to the Grand Strand! It's dogs, it's monkeys, it's monkeys riding dogs, and you know you want to check that out.
