THE HILLCATS: Last night Lynchburg came from behind to earn a 5-1 win at Kinston...The Hillcats snapped a five-game losing streak with the victory...Tonight they play the second game of a four-game series with the Indians and the second contest of a an eight-game road trip that will wrap up a stretch of 13 out of 16 on the road...

VS. KINSTON: Lynchburg is 9-5 against Kinston this season and they are 5-2 at Grainger Stadium...The Hillcats went 10-10 versus the Indians in 2009 and were 6-4 at Grainger Stadium...Lynchburg is 157-152 all-time against the Indians...

GO FIGURE: Last night Kinston's starter RHP Joe Gardner allowed just one run in seven innings of work...The Hillcats still came out on the winning end a night ago...In their previous two games against the Nationals, the two Potomac starters combined to last just five innings of action and allowed eight earned runs (14.40 ERA)...Despite the fact that neither starter made it through three innings of work the Nationals won both contests...Their bullpen in the series tossed a combined 15 innings without giving up a single run and earned both wins and a save...Last night the Cats scored four runs off of the K-Tribe pen in two innings to take the lead for good...

FEELING THE PULL: With their win last night the Hillcats are now 7-6 in their last 13 road games...Their loss Tuesday night at City Stadium dropped Lynchburg to 3-12 in their last 15 games at home and they fell to 24-31 at home this season...The Cats went 2-3 on their most recent road swing and 4-3 on the one prior to that...Those two road swings included series victories at Winston-Salem and Frederick, the two teams that won their respective divisions in the first half...

HEAVY HEART: C Jordan Wideman went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run and threw out a potential base thief last night...This was just one day after he received the news that one of his five sisters had passed away...It was Wideman's third multi-hit game of the season and the first contest all year that he had a double, an RBI and a run scored in...

SWITCH FLIPPED: RHP Curtis Partch pitched seven innings and only gave up one run last night in earning his fifth victory of the season...It was the right-handers longest outing of the season and it matched the longest stint of his career...In his last start Partch allowed five runs (three earned) in just three innings of action...But two starts ago he tossed six scoreless innings and gave up just two hits in a shutout win for the Hillcats...That is still the lone start this season that he did not give up a run...

PHEELING IT: OF Denis Phipps smacked his sixth home run in 19 games with the Hillcats since coming down from Double-A Carolina...In those 19 contests the outfielder is batting .380 (27-for-71) with nine doubles, a triple, six home runs, 17 RBI, 19 runs scored, nine walks and seven steals...His current OPS is 1.239...In 82 games with Double-A Carolina he had only homered twice and his OPS was .652...

NEWBIES: Wednesday night LHP Justin Walker made his Hillcats debut in his first start at the Advanced-A level...The southpaw allowed eight runs on nine hits in an inning and a third last night before getting the hook...He was 3-10 with a 5.88 ERA in 20 games (16 starts) with Low-A Dayton...In his last three outings with the Dragons he was 0-2 with a 14.23 ERA (18 earned runs in 11 innings)...Tuesday night LHP Ezequiel Infante made his Hillcats debut in relief...He went an inning and 2/3 with two hits, one unearned run, two strike outs and allowed two inherited runners to score...With Dayton the lefty was 1-2 with a 3.04 ERA in 28 games out of the pen...The Cats have now had 73 transactions in the 2010 campaign...

'BURG IS THE WORD: INF Chris Richburg went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI Tuesday night...He has had four multi-hit games in his last five contests and he now has six multi-hit games in 12 games with Lynchburg...With the Hillcats he is batting .349 (15-for-43) with two doubles, three home runs (all came in a four-game stretch), 11 RBI and eight runs scored...Richburg now has a total of 17 homers on the season (14 with Low-A Dayton), which is third in the Reds minor league organization...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: RHP Austin Adams was selected by the Indians in the fifth round of the 2009 draft out of Faulkner University...Last year he made his professional debut with Short Season Low-A Mahoning Valley and went 3-1 with a 4.86 ERA and a save in 17 relief appearances with the Scrappers...He began this season with full season Low-A Lake County and went 2-4 with a 3.54 ERA and one save in 13 games (eight starts) with the Captains...Since joining the K-Tribe, Adams has gone 3-0 with a 1.42 ERA in seven games (six starts)...Tonight will be his first start against Lynchburg...
