KAMLOOPS, BC â 15-year-old forward Brenden Dowd has been called up by the Kamloops Blazers and will be with the club through the weekend. Dowd, a Saskatoon, SK, native, is playing for the Saskatoon Blazers of the Saskatchewan AAA Midget League this season, and has 9 goals and 27 points in 23 games so far.
Dowd, a 5'11", 165-pound center, was the Blazers' second selection, 33rd overall, in the 2003 WHL Bantam Draft. Dowd turns 16 on December 31st, making him the youngest player eligible to play full-time in the WHL this season.
Dowd, one of the last cuts out of Blazer training camp in September, will wear jersey number 25.
