The WHEAT KINGS return home to the friendly confines of the Keystone Centre Friday night after winning two of three games on their recent 3-game Alberta road trip.After splitting the first two games of the trip (winning 2-1 in MEDICINE HAT before dropping a 4-1 decision in LETHBRIDGE), the WHEATS doubled up on BRENT SUTTER'S RED DEER REBELS 4-2 on Wednesday night.Right-winger ERIC FEHR led the winners with two goals and an assist while singles came off the sticks of RYAN REAVES and COREY COURCHENE.TYLER PLANTE made 38 saves to pick up the win, in what was his third consecutive start.With the win, the WHEAT KINGS improved their record to 13-10-5-1, good for thirty-two points and second place in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Division - five points up on third place PRINCE ALBERT, who dropped a 5-4 decision in MOOSE JAW on Wednesday.BRANDON is 7-4-1-1 at home; 6-6-4 on the road; 3-4-2 vs. Central Division clubs; 1-1-5 in overtime and 5-3-2 in their last ten games.Winners of three of their last four games, the WHEAT KINGS have lost just two of their last nine (5-2-2).In last Sunday's win over the TIGERS, netminder TYLER PLANTE made 32 saves while the WHEATS killed off nine TIGER powerplays including five of six called in the final period by referee PAT SMITH.BRANDON host the SEATTLE THUNDERBIRDS on Sunday night.

DYNAMIC DUO GETS THE CALL: BRANDON veterans RYAN STONE and ERIC FEHR will represent the WHEAT KINGS at next week's NATIONAL JUNIOR SELECTION CAMP at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.FEHR was one of five Manitobans selected and one of 21 WHLers chosen to attend camp.Camp begins in Winnipeg on Sunday afternoon at the MTS Centre.

WHOSE HOT? Captain TIM KONSORADA had his career high 13-game point scoring streak (5-16-21) snapped against the TIGERS on Sunday night but has managed to score at least a point in fourteen of his last 16 games.RYAN STONE enters tonight's game sitting atop the WHL scoring race with 44 points.ERIC FEHR leads the league with 27 goals.Blueliner STEVEN LATER is among the top scoring WHL defenceman (2-20-22). LATER was also November's winner of the JACK FRASER WHEAT KING PLAYER OF THE MONTH.

SPECIAL TEAMS TERRIFIC: BRANDON has moved back atop the WHL with 39 powerplay goals in 156 opportunities (25%).ERIC FEHR leads the WHL with fifteen powerplay markers.WHEATS have scored twenty-one powerplay goals in their last 14 games.Penalty killing, the WHEATS are 12th in the league (84.4%).RYAN STONE is tied for the league lead with three shorthanded tallies.

VS.TIGERS: This is the third meeting of the season between these two teams.They've split the first two, with the road team winning each time.TIGERS have outscored BRANDON 4-3.

MILESTONES: Right-winger ERIC FEHR, who reached the 100 goal mark in early November, recently eclipsed the 200-point plateau in his WHL career.With last week's shutout - the second of his brief WHL career - TYLER PLANTE moved into a tie for ninth place on the club's all time list. Among those that he's tied with include TREVOR ROBINS, TREVOR KIDD and BLAINE PETERSON.TIM KONSORADA has moved to within five points of 200 in his career while MARK SHEFCHYK is five points shy of the century mark.

BRANDON BITS: The last WHEAT KING to win the WHL scoring crown was RAY FERRARO (108-84-192) in 1983-84.WHEAT KINGS have announced that tickets to their four regular season games to be played at the MTS Centre in WINNIPEG in 2005 will go on sale on Monday, December 13th.STEVEN LATER is fifth in the league with 90 penalty minutes.TYLER PLANTE leads all WHL rookies with a .915 save percentage.The OHL's LONDON KNIGHTS will be out to break the CHL record for longest undefeated streak to start the season (29 games - BRANDON 1978-79), when they take to the ice to meet GUELPH on Friday night. The KNIGHTS equaled the record on Wednesday with a 5-3 victory over the hometown KITCHENER RANGERS.
