Waterloo, Iowa - The Waterloo Bucks have announced the resignation of field manager Scott Douglas along with the promotion of JD Eaton as the team's interim manager. Douglas had taken a leave of absence from the team since July 10 due to health concerns.

Effective immediately, third base and hitting coach JD Eaton will serve as the interim manager. At the conclusion of the season, the Bucks will conduct a thorough managerial search for a permanent replacement.

"I wish Scott nothing but the best and appreciate all of his efforts over the last three seasons," said Bucks' general manager Dan Corbin. "Scott will be missed, but we are excited to be able to give JD this opportunity to lead the ballclub down the stretch of the Northwoods League season."

Johnnie "J.D." Eaton joined the Bucks in May from Mobile, Alabama for his first season as the organization's third base and hitting coach. Eaton played for Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in 2013, hitting .301 across 103 at-bats with 2 doubles, 1 home run and 5 stolen bases. He then transferred to Point University in 2014, slashing .329/.448/.367 with 1 double, 1 triple, and 10 steals in 37 games. Across 54 games in 2015 Eaton drove in 14, went 11-12 on steals, scored 27 runs, and reached base at a .352 clip.

The Bucks begin a four-game homestand tonight, taking on the Mankato MoonDogs with first pitch slated for 6:35 pm. All games can be heard online at www.waterloobucks.com with play-by-play announcer Thomas Breach. Tickets may be purchased online at www.waterloobucks.com or by calling the Bucks' Ticket Line at (319) 232-5633.

All home games are played at Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium where the team welcomed a new state of the art video board in 2016 thanks to a matching grant from the Black Hawk County Gaming Association. Team ownership has invested more than $170,000 in improvements since the end of the 2014 season including painted bleachers, public Wi-Fi, sound system, group outing areas, kids zone inflatables, and concessions equipment. Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com or utilizing the Northwoods League Mobile App. Tickets are now on sale by calling the Bucks' Ticket Line at 319-232-5633.
