Kenosha, WI. - The visiting Green Bay Bullfrogs (18-32, 6-8) secured the two-game sweep and extended their win streak to three games with a 7-3 victory over the host Kenosha Kingfish (23-25, 10-4) at Simmons Field Wednesday evening. The Bullfrogs improve to 4-2 against the Kingfish this season.
Kenosha struck first in the opening frame with a RBI double by Will Wagner to give the Kingfish an early 1-0 advantage. Green Bay tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth inning on Riley Mihalik's (Junior, Rider Univ.) sacrifice fly scoring Preston Pavlica (Junior, Grand Canyon Univ.).
The Bullfrogs loaded the bases with nobody out in the fifth and Matthew Acosta (Sophomore, USC) ripped a two-run single to put the Frogs in front 3-1. Green Bay held the lead for the remainder of the contest. A sacrifice fly from Kenosha's Ben Troike made it a 3-2 game in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Green Bay added a pair of important insurance runs in the eighth on a two-run blast by Keaton Smith (Junior, Univ. of Nevada) to extend the advantage out to 5-2. Kenosha got one run back on a RBI single from Devin Ortiz in the following frame to cut the deficit down to 5-3.
