(Central Islip, N.Y., July 28, 2011) - The Long Island Ducks are inching closer to welcoming their 5 millionth fan through the gates at Bethpage Ballpark. As of July 27, the Ducks are just 19,638 fans away from reaching that magical number, and you could be the lucky 5 millionth fan into the ballpark during this six-game homestand.
On the date when the 5 millionth fan enters the ballpark, he or she will be joined by QuackerJack, members of the Ducks, and Bethpage Federal Credit Union for a special presentation on the field. The lucky fan will receive terrific prizes such as throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, having their name on the Bethpage Ballpark scoreboard, a jersey, a special gift from Bethpage Federal Credit Union, and so much more.
For the duration of the barrier-breaking game, the Ducks and Bethpage Federal Credit Union will pull out all of the stops for the 5 millionth fan, giving them a once-in-a-lifetime experience. To start the celebration, the Ducks will roll out the red carpet, complete with confetti as he or she enters the ballpark. The 5 millionth fan will then head down to the field for the pregame festivities. To cap off the historic evening, the 5 millionth fan's entrance into Bethpage Ballpark will be prominently displayed on the Ducks' official web site, www.liducks.com, as one of the top news stories.
The 5 millionth fan will likely pass through the gates during the fourth game of the homestand, Saturday, July 30, when the Ducks host the Road Warriors.
