Donovan's Home Run Headlines Showcase
August 5, 2015 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Green Bay Rockers News Release
Madison, WI- Led by four Bullfrogs, the visiting team of the second contest from the Big League Dreams Showcase won 7-0.
Ryan Donovan (Lynn) hit a no-doubt home run shot to the short porch in right field in the seventh inning to give the visiting club added insurance. He finished the day 1-for-4 and started at first base.
Logan Taylor (Louisville) started in center field. He hit two balls hard to center field but did not receive a hit. Taylor led off the game against the home team's starting pitcher, Marshall Kasowski (Houston).
In excellent relief work, the Bullfrogs Jake Stolley (Northwestern) entered in the fourth inning and retired the side in scoreless work with two strikeouts. The strikeouts were against two of the most formidable hitters in the league, Anthony Massicci (Lakeshore/Canisius) and Jean Ramirez (Madison/Illinois State).
Another Bullfrog, Ryan Radue (UConn) came into the game in the seventh inning. With his team up 5-0, Radue outed Steve Sada (Alexandria/Miami (OH)), Anthony Massicci via a strikeout, and Jason Scholl (Kenosha/Eastern Illinois) on a weak fly out to shallow right field to end the inning.
The Big League Dreams Showcase was played at Warner Park in Madison, WI, and served as an opportunity for these players to display their talents in front of Major League Baseball scouts.
Fresh off these remarkable showings, these Bullfrogs join their teammates in Kenosha tomorrow to continue their road series for a 7:05PM first pitch against the Kingfish. Green Bay carries a 5-2 record against the Kingfish and 39-28 overall mark to the matchup.
