Dogs Fall to Railroaders in Slugfest

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Victor Roache, Jordan Dean and Tony Rosselli all homered, but the Chicago Dogs could not power past the Cleburne Railroaders, falling 13-8 on Monday night.
It was a slugfest at Impact Field, as both teams homered four times.
Angel Reyes started things off for Cleburne with a solo home run in first. The Railroaders' first baseman finished the game 5-for-5 with two homers and four runs scored.
Cleburne tacked on another run in the top of the second as Hunter Clanin hit a run-scoring bloop single to make it 2-0 Railroaders.
The Dogs got on the board in the bottom of the frame as Roache launched solo shot to dead center, bringing Chicago within 2-1.
Cleburne answered with two more runs in the third, courtesy of Chase Simpson and Zach Nehrir.
Jordan Dean then blasted an opposite-field solo homer to bring the Dogs back within 4-2.
The Railroaders broke the game open with six unanswered runs over the next two innings. John Nester drove in three with an RBI single and two-run homer, and Reyes added his second homer of the night in the sixth.
Roache belted his second homer of game in the bottom of the sixth, a towering two-run shot to left to bring the Dogs within 10-4.
The Dogs made things interesting with four runs in the ninth. Rosselli ripped a solo homer in the ninth to make it 13-5. It marked Rosselli's eleventh long ball of the season, but was his first of the year at Impact Field.
Trey Vavra and Kelly Dugan added RBI base knocks to bring Chicago within 13-8 before Tyler Wilson forced a strikeout from Gustavo Pierre to end the game.
The Dogs travel to Fargo for a three-game set with the RedHawks beginning on Tuesday night. LHP Jake Dahlberg will start game one of the series, with first pitch scheduled for 7:02 PM.
