AirHogs Narrowly Avoid No-Hitter, Fall 5-0

July 30, 2019 - American Association (AA)
Texas AirHogs News Release

The AirHogs bats were silenced by Explorers starter Pete Tago tonight, falling 5-0.

Tago was brilliant tonight allowing just 3 singles during nine shutout innings. He struck out 12 AirHogs while walking none.

The Explorers jumped on AirHogs starter Zach Lemond early putting up 4 runs in the first inning. That would be it for Lemond unfortunately as he left the game with a groin injury after the first inning.

Pete Perez followed Lemond onto the mound and provided 4.2 brilliant shutout innings of relief. On a night when the AirHogs looked like they could be in for a long night Pete Perez saved the day.

Brett Eibner pitches the final 2.1 innings allowing a run on a solo homer off the bat of Jose Sermo.

The AirHogs have a day off and then welcome the Cleburne Railroaders to town starting Wednesday. The AirHogs and Railroaders will complete their suspended game first and then play game one of the series 30 minutes after the completion of the 1st game.

Individual tickets for the 2019 season are on sale now. Visit AirHogsBaseball.com for more information.

All AirHogs games are available on Mixlr.com/txairhogs and home game video streams are available at Americanassociationbaseball.tv.
