Dogs Drop Series in Milwaukee

Chicago Dogs News Release

While they fought until the very end, the Dogs dropped the last two games of the series against the Milwaukee Milkmen, losing the finale by a score of 6-5. Up 5-1 at one point, Chicago's pitching waivered in the middle and late innings, and the Dogs ultimately headed to Lake Country two games under .500 at 8-10.

Dwayne Marshall looked great to start his outing, holding a 5-1 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth inning. However, two runs in the fourth followed by two runs in the sixth completely changed the tone of his outing, as he couldn't make it through the sixth. Nick DeCarlo allowed one run in an inning and a third, Ranyne Supple recorded one out, and Will Merriott tossed a scoreless eighth inning.

The offense struck early and often, thanks in part to Tyreque Reed, who drove in a run in the first, and another in the fourth, collecting three of the team's eleven hits. Daniel Harris also collected three hits and two RBI, while Jacob Maiben drove in the only other run of the game for Chicago. The Dogs scored all five of their runs prior to the fifth inning, which was a theme this series. The bats started hot, but fizzled out as the game progressed.

The Dogs begin a new series in Lake Country on Friday as they take on the DockHounds for three games. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 6:35pm CST. All Dogs games can be streamed for free on aabaseball.tv.
