Lake Country DockHounds News Release

Lincoln, Nebraska - An hour rain delay on getaway day couldn't slow the league-best Lake Country DockHounds offense Thursday night at Haymarket Park, as all nine DockHounds starters recorded multiple hits in a 12-3 comeback victory to complete the sweep of the Lincoln Saltdogs and extend the winning streak to 10 games.

Lincoln led Lake Country 3-0 with two outs in the top of the fifth inning with nobody on base. In a two-strike count, Ray Zuberer III popped a fly ball to shallow left field, but the ball was lost in the sky for a double. Ryan Hernandez traded places with Zuberer before Joshua Mears tied the game with a two-run home run.

DockHounds starter Shane Anderson had trouble with his command early, walking four batters his first time through the Lincoln lineup. The rookie making his second start left multiple runners in three of his five innings while limiting the Saltdogs to just three runs on his way to ultimately getting the win.

Brett Roberts, Ripken Reyes, and Dom Johnson singled with one away in the sixth inning to Lake Country in front for good. Ray Zuberer & Ryan Hernandez followed with a double, then a home run to quickly jump ahead by five.

A Peter Zimmerman three-run home run later delivered the dagger as the bullpen fired four scoreless innings without allowing a hit. Rodrigo Benoit and Trey Dillard both struck out three.

The DockHounds return home overnight to begin a three-game home stand against Chicago Dogs Friday night.
