Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

TORONTO, ONT. - Hamilton Bulldogs forward Gabriel Dumont scored the game-tying goal midway through the third period, then set up the game winner to lift the 'Dogs (20-17-6-0) to a 4-3 overtime victory over the Toronto Marlies (17-17-7-0) at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, Ont. on Saturday afternoon.

The win was the Bulldogs' fourth in a row, which is their longest winning streak this season. The last time Hamilton won four straight came between Dec. 26, 2013 and Jan. 10, 2014, when the club won six consecutive games.

Hamilton forward Drayson Bowman opened the scoring 2:09 into the first period with his seventh goal of the season, assisted by forward Sahir Gill and defenceman Mac Bennett.

Toronto forward Brandon Kozun tied the game 1-1 at 10:49 of the opening frame when he redirected a centring pass from forward Spencer Abbott past Hamilton goaltender Mike Condon. Forward Sam Carrick had a second assist.

Marlies forward Carter Ashton put his team ahead 2-1 just 22 seconds into the second period, with assists from defenceman Viktor Loov and forward Troy Bodie.

Just over three minutes later, Toronto defenceman Matt Finn found a hole through a screen with a wrist shot from the top of the left circle and beat Condon to make it a 3-1 game. Bodie and forward Tyler Biggs drew assists.

With less than four minutes to go in the second period, Bulldogs forward Maxime Macenauer redirected a shot by forward Jake Dowell past Marlies goaltender Antoine Bibeau to cut the 'Dogs deficit to 3-2 after 40 minutes. Defenceman Davis Drewiske had a second assist.

At 9:44 of the third period, Dumont fired a slap shot from the high slot that beat Bibeau to tie the game, 3-3. Dumont's team-leading 12th goal of the season was unassisted.

Just 37 seconds into overtime, Dumont found forward Sven Andrighetto with a pass on the edge of the crease and Andrighetto redirected it home to lift the 'Dogs past the Marlies, 4-3. Defenceman Darren Dietz had a second assist on Andrighetto's 10th goal of the season.

Condon made 22 saves on 25 shots for the Bulldogs in the win, while Bibeau stopped 27 of 31 shots faced for the Marlies in the loss.

Hamilton went 0-for-2 on the power play, while Toronto was 0-for-3 with a man advantage.
