Rosemont, Ill. - Miguel Rosario twirled eight strong innings and a furious ninth inning Dogs rally fell short as Chicago lost to the Texas AirHogs 4-3 on Wiener Wednesday at Impact Field.

After the two teams traded runs in their respective halves of the first inning, Chicago pushed in front on a Tony Rosselli solo home run in the bottom of the second. The bomb was the first of the season for Rosselli and just the sixteenth of the year allowed by AirHogs pitching-the fewest in the American Association.

Two ensuing AirHogs long balls would prove to be the difference makers in the game however. Casio Grider knotted the game at 2-2 with a lead-off home run in the fourth inning, and then Dillon Thomas pushed Texas in front 4-2 with a two-run shot in the fifth.

Texas entered the game with just eight home runs as a team. Both AirHogs long balls Wednesday night came against Chicago starter Josh Goossen-Brown, who had not allowed a home run over his past four starts. Goossen-Brown took the loss in the game, going six innings, while allowing four runs on eight hits. His record now sits at 2-3 on the season.

With Rosario cruising on the mound opposite Goossen-Brown the Dogs mustered just three hits over Rosario's final four innings of work. With Rosario finally out of the game, Chicago mounted a rally in the bottom of the ninth.

AirHogs closer Taylor Wright allowed a lead-off single to Joe Benson, and, two batters later, Matt Dean cut the deficit to 4-3 with a double. With the tying run in scoring position and one out, Carlos Contreras entered the game and struck out the final two batters to end the game and pick up the save.

The loss drops Chicago to 9-21 while the win pushes the AirHogs to 6-24. The two teams will play the rubber match of their three-game set Thursday at Impact Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

The game will be broadcast at www.thechicagodogs.com/broadcasts/ with the Crowne Plaza Pregame Show beginning at 6:45 p.m.
