Mankato MoonDogs News Release
Game two of the double header started with a bang as Kai Roberts walked before Kip Fougerousse doubled, sending Roberts home giving the MoonDogs the early lead. Brendan Hord would get hit by an off the mark pitch. Hunter Faildo would single to the right field gap sending Fougerousse home.
Nolan Tichy would continue the heater with a single loading the bases for the MoonDogs. Mikey Gottschalk would take a walk scoring another run for the MoonDogs. Hauser would be the last MoonDogs to get a hit in the first inning scoring another run and giving the MoonDogs a commanding lead.
The MoonDogs bats would heat back up in the sixth inning as Joe Hauser would get a lead off double. Easton Fritcher would move Hauser with a ground out to the first basemen. Roberts would send one to the left fielder that would hit him in the glove and drop allowing Hauser to score and Roberts to get on base.
Fougerousse walked setting up Brendan Hord for a massive scoring position. Hord would launch one deep into left field getting robbed by the of a home run that would have put the game into auto pilot. Ryan Nicholson would single to center scoring Roberts.
Faildo would keep it going with a single to left allowing Fougerousse to score.
The Larks would try to mount a comeback in the seventh but would fall short as Mack Crowley makes his MoonDogs debut. The MoonDogs won the game by a score of 8-2 and sweep the Larks.
