Tacoma, WA - The Tacoma Rainiers (35-49) were outslugged by the Oklahoma City Dodgers (50-35) 15-4 on Tuesday night at Cheney Stadium. The Dodgers notched 38 total bases on 20 hits (6 doubles, four home runs), tying a season high for most hits allowed in a game by the Rainiers.

Oklahoma City attacked Rainiers RHP Chris Mazza immediately. Third baseman Eddy Alvarez crushed the second pitch of the game 447 feet, well over the wall in right for a solo shot. Dodgers designated hitter James Outman tacked on another solo homer to lead-off the second. Two batters later, following a Jake Amaya double, Hunter Feduccia homered to right. Still with none out in the away second, Drew Avans doubled and scored on an Eddy Alvarez RBI single, making it a 5-0 game.

The Dodgers increased their lead to six in the fourth off LHP Austin Warner. With the bases loaded and none out, Jason Martin hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Alvarez. Tacoma got on the board in the bottom of the frame. Left fielder Kyle Lewis slammed a solo homer off the scoreboard in center (105.6 mph exit velocity, 434 feet). It was Lewis' fourth consecutive game with a homer in the Mariners organization (three with High-A Everett and one with Triple-A Tacoma).

Extra base hits continued to hurt the Rainiers. In the top of the fifth, Feduccia hit his second homer of the game, this one with the bases empty. Later in the inning, Michael Busch drove in two runs on a double to right, increasing Oklahoma City's lead to 9-1.

The Rainiers responded with a three-run inning of their own in the home fifth. With two on and two out, Jarred Kelenic blasted a home run to right, brining Tacoma back to within five. The four runs allowed by Oklahoma City starter Ryan Pepiot were a season high. The Los Angeles Dodgers' sixth highest rated prospect (MLB.com) came into the game with a 6-0 record and 1.94 ERA and went 5.2 innings, allowing six baserunners and striking out seven on Tuesday.

The Dodgers got a run back in the sixth on a sacrifice fly to center by Amaya that drove in Ryan Nona. They pushed across another on an RBI double by Busch in the seventh and scored again on an RBI groundout by Avans in the eighth. Oklahoma City ended the scoring at 15-4 in the ninth on RBI singles by Martin and Noda and an RBI groundout by James Outman.

Tacoma looks to even the series on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. PST at Cheney Stadium. The probable pitching matchup is Daniel Ponce de Leon for the Rainiers against Jon Duplantier for the Dodgers.
