Oklahoma City Comets News Release
Game Summary: The Oklahoma City Dodgers scored in eight of nine innings and piled up a season-high 20 hits - including 10 extra-base hits - to open their series against the Tacoma Rainiers with a 15-4 victory Tuesday night at Cheney Stadium. Eddy Alvarez led off the game with a home run, giving the Dodgers (50-35) the lead for the rest of the game. OKC scored in every inning except the third inning, including three separate innings with at least three runs. A four-run second inning featured home runs by James Outman and Hunter Feduccia. Feduccia hit two of the team's four homers, also going deep in the fifth inning. The Rainiers (35-49) scored three runs in the fifth inning, cutting the Dodgers' lead to 9-4, but were held without a run thereafter. The Dodgers scored six more runs over the final four innings to increase the lead to 15-4.
Of Note: -The Dodgers set a season high with 20 hits, marking their highest hit total since May 30, 2021 at El Paso when they also tallied 20 hits. The team recorded 10 extra-base hits Tuesday night, with four homers and six doubles, and the doubles total is the highest in a nine-inning game this season. The 15 runs are also the second-most in a game this season, and the 11-run margin of victory is also the second-highest in a game this season, with both figures only behind a 19-0 win at Round Rock May 12.
-All nine players in the lineup collected at least one hit and scored at least one run. Seven of nine players had at least one extra-base hit, and eight players finished with multi-hit games. Michael Busch had a game-high and season-high four hits, including two doubles. Jake Amaya and Hunter Feduccia also had two extra-base hits each. Five players had multi-RBI games.
-Hunter Feduccia recorded his first career multi-homer game and first two Triple-A home runs Tuesday night. He hit a two-run homer in the second inning and added a solo shot in the fifth inning. In five games since joining OKC, Feduccia has five hits, all for extra bases.
-Eddy Alvarez went deep on the third pitch of the game, hitting the team's third leadoff home run of the season. He reached base four times, going 3-for-5 with a walk, two RBI and three runs scored. In his five games since rejoining OKC, Alvarez is 9-for-19 with three homers and seven RBI.
-Michael Busch tied his career high with four hits, picking up hits in each of his final four at-bats. Busch tied Hunter Feduccia with a team-high three RBI and doubled twice. He now has hit at least one double in four straight games, notching five total doubles during that time. He now has 25 extra-base hits in his 46 games with OKC (15 doubles, 10 homers).
-Miguel Vargas reached base in each of his final five plate appearances with two hits and three walks. He went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored and extended his hitting streak to six games, going 9-for-25. He has now hit safely in 20 of his last 22 games.
-Drew Avans went 1-for-5 with a double, run and RBI and extended his season-best on-base streak to 24 games. The on-base streak is the longest by an OKC player this season. He has now hit safely in 20 of his last 24 games and has reached base safely in 38 of his last 39 games.
