Space Cowboys Fall in First-Ever Game vs. Reno

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) - The Sugar Land Space Cowboys and Reno Aces met for the first time Tuesday since the Space Cowboys became the Triple A affiliate of the Houston Astros in 2021.

The Space Cowboys dropped the inaugural contest between the two clubs, losing 5-4 at Constellation Field.

Enmanuel Valdez put the Space Cowboys up 1-0 in the second with a solo home run. It was Valdez's eighth home run since joining the Space Cowboys from Double A Corpus Christi. He leads all Astros minor leaguers with a combined 19 home runs and 71 RBI.

HIGHLIGHTS: 7.12 vs. RNO

The Space Cowboys struck for three more runs in the third, tying the game at 4-4, on a two-run double from Pedro León and sacrifice fly from Yainer Diaz. León is tied for third in the Pacific Coast League with 20 doubles on the season.

Reno took the lead for good in the eighth on a sacrifice fly from Stone Garrett. The Aces scored their other four runs in the third, including a three-run homer from Corbin Carroll.

Jimmy Endersby was assigned to the Space Cowboys on Monday and made his Triple A debut Tuesday. Endersby took a no-decision, allowing four runs on six hits with a strikeout.

Parker Mushinski made the third appearance of his MLB Rehab Assignment, tossing 15 pitches in a scoreless inning of relief.

The Space Cowboys and Aces continue their six-game series at 11:05 a.m. on Wednesday at Constellation Field. Peter Solomon is scheduled to get the start for the Space Cowboys, with Drey Jameson set to start for Reno.
