GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (August 24, 2009) - Reed Dickert had one of his finest performances in a starting role on Monday night at QuickTrip Park, the only problem was the offense couldn't come up with anything as the St. Paul Saints lost their 12th 1-0 game in franchise history as they were defeated by the Grand Prairie AirHogs.

Dickert retired nine consecutive hitters from the end of the first until the beginning of the fourth, but gave up a double to one of the league's best hitters, Cesar Nicholas with one out in the fourth. After hitting Mike Conroy to put runners at first and second, Dickert gave up a seeing eye single on the left side to Javier Brito that scored Nicholas for the only run of the game. Dickert got Derek Nicholson to ground into a double play to end the inning.

Over the next three innings Dickert would allow just one base runner, a two out single to Drew Holder in the fifth. Dickert went 7.0 innings allowing one run on four hits while striking out two.

The Saints offense, on the other hand, went silent a night after scoring nine runs against the Lincoln Saltdogs. The Saints had their best chance in the second when Jeff Eure singled with two outs and moved to third on a double by Anthony Norman. Scott Knazek then hit a liner that second baseman Daniel Berg reached up and was able to snag to end the inning.

The Saints would not have another runner as far as third until the eighth when Brent Krause led off with a single. He stole second and moved to third on a ground out by Jacob Butler. With two outs, however, Eure struck out to end the inning.
