Diablos lose closely contested series against Laredo 3-1

El Paso Diablos News Release

El Paso, TX- With another huge crowd in hand the Diablos came up short against the Laredo Lemurs losing tonight's game 6-1, and the overall series 3-1.

Contrary to last night's game the Diablos offense was stagnant from the start, as the Lemurs took an early 2-0 lead and never relinquished it. Despite the Diablos offensive inabilities, pitching and defense kept the game close, until the Lemurs added on two more runs in the fourth inning to take a commanding 4-0 lead.

What looked like a shut out win for the Lemurs turned into a closely contested game by the Diablos with a late run of their own, in the eighth inning Oscar Mesa drove in the only run of the game for the Diablos with a RBI Sac fly, to cut Laredo's lead to three. Unfortunately the Diablos couldn't duplicate the success they had in the eighth inning going scoreless in the ninth, and giving up two runs, and the eventual 6-1 loss.

The Diablos are now done with their four game series against the Laredo Lemurs, and will now start a four game series against the Grand Prairie AirHogs, tomorrow night, 7:05 here at Cohen Stadium.
