Devils Sign Tarkir to ATO

LOWELL, Mass. "" The Lowell Devils announced today they have signed D Zach Tarkir to an Amateur Try-Out Contract (ATO).

Tarkir, 22, recently completed his four-year college career at Northern Michigan University. In 151 career games at NMU, Tarkir recorded 14g-35a-49pts and 194 penalty minutes. The Fresno, California native was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the fifth round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He led all Wildcats' defensemen in scoring during his senior sea! son.

The Devils travel to Portland to take on the Pirates on Friday, March 23rd at 7:05 p.m. They return home to face the Manchester Monarchs at 7:05 on Saturday, March 24th. Coming up the following weekend is Guns & Hoses Night on March 30th, with the first 1,000 fans getting a free puck, courtesy of Trinity EMS. On March 31st the first 1,000 people will get a Devil Dawg Bobblehead Doll, sponsored by TD Banknorth. All Devils games can be heard live on WCAP 980 AM with the Voice of the Devils, Ryan Johnston.
