Albany Devils News Release

LOWELL, Mass. - Monarchs goalie Jonathan Bernier stopped all 18 shots he faced as the Lowell Devils lost to Manchester, 3-0, on Tuesday night at the Tsongas Arena. It was Bernier's second straight shutout over the Devils and kept Lowell three points out of the fourth and final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division.

Justin Azevedo made it 1-0 for Manchester at 7:32 of the first, as he trailed into the Devils zone and backhanded home a rebound after Jeff Frazee made a pad stop on Dave Meckler's breakaway.

With the score unchanged as the two teams headed into the third period, Matt Moulson put Manchester up by two at 7:40. Trevor Lewis cut out from behind the net and sent a pass across the crease, where Moulson was camped out on the near post to knock the puck across the goal line.

The Devils could not find the offense to mount a comeback, being held to just four shots in the final frame. Gabe Gauthier put the game firmly out of reach with 4:51 remaining to make the final score, 3-0.

The Lowell Devils travel to face the Portland Pirates on Friday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m. Listen as Ryan Johnston brings you all of the live action on ahllive.com.
