Manitoba Moose News Release

The Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with Power 97, are pleased to announce the fifth annual "Cut for Cancer" event which will take place Saturday, April 4th between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. in the second level atrium of the MTS Centre. The Moose take on the Toronto Marlies in the final home game of the AHL regular season at 7:30 p.m.

This season, the first 97 people to come down to the MTS Centre between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. who get their head shaved along with Power 97 personalities will receive a free ticket to the game between the Moose and Marlies. Everyone who makes a donation or shaves their head during this promotion will receive a $5 savings on a ticket to the game, where someone will win a brand new 2009 Toyota Tundra truck.

Last year, more than 150 individuals joined us at the MTS Centre to make a donation and get their head shaved for a cause that touches almost every family in Manitoba. Over the past four seasons, the "Cut for Cancer" promotion has raised in excess of $130,000.

This year, all proceeds will go towards the Canadian Cancer Society.

This effort will kick off this coming Thursday, March 26th when Moose captain Mike Keane as well as several other members of the team will join Wheeler and Hal on Power 97 in the morning to get their heads shaved in support of the fight against cancer.
