ELMIRA, NY (March 26, 2008) - The Trenton Devils rallied in a must-win game on the road, scoring four unanswered goals in the third period to take a 5-3 win against the Elmira Jackals. Chris Poli's first career professional goal was the game-winner.

The rookie's tally came with less than five minutes to play in regulation, when he took off down the ice with Jason Paige on a two-on-none. Paige set up the current Brown University student with a pass across the doorstep.

The goal was the third in a four-goal final period. Trenton had mustered just one goal in the first forty minutes of play, a Matt Cohen power play shot from the center of the slot 12:06 into the second.

Elmira led 3-1 after two, but the Devils gained momentum by killing off a five-minute Trevor Kell major penalty. Colin Pepperall began the charge with a put-back off a Jim Henkel blast 4:51 into the frame.

Joe Rooney tied the game less than twenty-five seconds later. The forward streaked into the attacking zone with Tony Zancanaro on an odd-man rush. Zancanaro put on the brakes at the top of the right circle before firing the puck right onto Rooney's stick to slam past netminder Joel Martin.

After scoring the game-winner, Poli completed the Devils' line with his second goal of the game. The forward picked up the puck on the near-side boards, then pulled the rubber onto his backhand before punching it through Martin's five-hole.

Maxime Ouellet earned his second win of the season by stopping 34 of 37 shots. He last saw ice-time on March 2nd, but shook off the rust with several high-quality saves late in the game.

Trenton went 3-for-8 on the power play, and has now scored seven goals in 21 chances over their last three games. They held Elmira to just one goal on over fifteen minutes of man-advantage play.

The Trenton Devils continue their final road trip of the season with a stop at Reading this Friday, March 28th at 7:05pm. Tune into WTSR 91.3 or go online to www.trentondevils.com and listen or watch live courtesy of B2 Networks.
