Trenton Devils News Release

READING, Pa., (April 3, 2009) -- The Trenton Devils picked up their 11th win in 14 games against the Reading Royals with a 5-1 triumph Friday night. The Devils can assure themselves home-ice advantage in the North Division Semifinals with a win in tomorrow's game against the Wheeling Nailers.

The scoring started 2:04 into the game as Matt Radoslovich netted his 12th tally of the season. Tony Zancanaro fired a shot that bounced off the end boards right to the stick of Radoslovich, who put home the loose puck.

Jeremy Akeson added to the lead 37 seconds later with his 16th goal of the season, a blast from inside the Royals blue line.

Zancanaro picked up a goal on the power play to increase the Devil lead to three. The forward was alone in the slot and sneaked a wrist shot through Michael Ouzas for his fifth goal of the season.

The Devils continued to dominate in the second period, as Eric Castonguay scored both goals of the period in identical fashion.

The first of those goals came at the 7:10 mark, as Castonguay weaved into the slot and rifled a shot over the right shoulder of Ouzas, who was pulled after the goal in favor of Beau Erickson. Two minutes later, Castonguay scored his second on a similar play.

Ben Gordon broke the shutout with a power play goal late in the third period, though it did not diminish a fine night for Gerald Coleman, who made 27 saves in the game after being named to the All-ECHL Second Team.
