Detroit City FC Unveils 2022 USL Championship Schedule

DETROIT, Michigan - The Detroit City Football Club has released its debut schedule as members of the USL Championship, kicking off 2022 at San Antonio FC on March 12. Le Rouge will have 17 home matches throughout the regular season at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck.

"This is certain to be a very special season," said CEO Sean Mann. "We'll bring the highest level of competition to Keyworth to date, week in and week out, and our supporters will have the opportunity to experience a true road environment in some of the best soccer venues in the country."

After opening on the road in San Antonio, DCFC returns home for three-straight matches at Keyworth, starting with the Charleston Battery on March 12. The Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Memphis 901 FC round out the home stand on March 17 and April 2, respectively.

All but five of Le Rouge's 34 regular season matches will be on Saturdays this year. The remaining fixtures will kick off on Wednesdays - first coming on May 18 at Miami FC. Of the midweek contests, only the July 6 matchup against Hartford Athletic will be at home.

Detroit City visits fellow USL Championship newcomer Monterey Bay FC on July 16. The 2022 regular season campaign wraps up at Keyworth on October 15 against Miami FC.

DCFC is one of 14 clubs competing in the USL Championship's Eastern Conference. The Western Conference is comprised of 13 clubs. Every team will play each of its conference foes twice - once at home, once away. For Eastern Conference clubs, the remaining eight games will be against interconference opponents - four at home, four away.

At the conclusion of the regular season, the top seven teams in each conference will qualify for playoffs. The first overall seed in each conference will receive a bye to the conference semifinals.
