RGV FC Announces 2022 Regular Season Schedule

EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC announced today its 34-game schedule for the 2022 USL Championship regular season. The club enters its seventh season in the USL with Wilmer Cabrera as Head Coach and Sporting Director.
The club opens play at H-E-B Park on Saturday, March 12 as they host Oakland Roots powered by Reliant. RGV will be on the road on March 19 for a face off against the 2021 USL Champions, Orange County SC.
Two weeks later, on Sunday March 27, RGV FC hosts San Antonio FC in a rematch of the 2021 USL Championship Playoff semifinals in the Copa Tejas showdown presented by HEB.
The 2022 Championship regular season will see each of the league's teams play a 34-game within 32 weeks, with the league divided into two conferences. Every team will play each of its conference foes twice. Western Conference clubs will play the remaining 10 games against a combination of interconference and intraconference opponents - five at home, five away.
For the first time in franchise history, the Toros will play Oakland Roots (3/2), Indy Eleven (4/9), New York Redbulls II (4/15), Monterey Bay FC (5/14), Pittsburgh Riverhounds (6/18), Charleston Battery (9/23), Louisville FC (10/1) and Memphis 901 (10/5).
The club will take on seven Eastern Conference teams, Indy Eleven, New York Red Bulls II, Atlanta United FC 2 (6/1), Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, Hartford Athletic (7/27), Charleston Battery and Memphis 901 FC.
The Toros will then head on a five-game road trip in August to face off against Sacramento Republic FC (8/6), San Antonio FC (8/20), Las Vegas Lights FC (8/27), Phoenix Rising FC (8/31) and El Paso Locomotive FC (8/7).
RGV will finish the 2022 regular season with a face off against Monterey Bay FC on Saturday, October 15 at H-E-B Park for the first time ever.
At the conclusion of the regular season on Oct. 15, the top seven teams in each conference will qualify for the 2022 USL Championship Playoffs. The first overall seed in each conference will receive a bye to the Conference Semifinals of the playoffs. The bracket will be reseeded following the Conference Quarterfinals to ensure the first overall seed in each conference plays against the lowest-seeded remaining opponent.
The USL Championship Playoffs will remain a single-elimination format, culminating in the 2022 USL Championship Final on a to-be-determined date between Nov. 10 and Nov. 14, 2022.
