Denver Outlaws News Release
DENVER - The Denver Outlaws will face the Chesapeake Bayhawks in the MLL Championship Game on Sunday (11 a.m. MDT faceoff) at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. The game marks Denver's fourth consecutive and league-record ninth overall championship game appearance.
The Outlaws, looking to win back-to-back championships for the first time in team history, defeated the Boston Cannons 17-15 in the semifinals on Friday night at Peter Barton Stadium. Attackman John Grant Jr. led the Outlaws with five goals as Denver battled back from a six-goal second-quarter deficit.
Chesapeake, who defeated the Atlanta Blaze in a 15-14 overtime thriller in the semifinals, is led by fifth-year attackman Lyle Thompson. A finalist for league MVP, Thompson (46 goals, 27 assists) came just five points short of setting the league's single-season scoring record in 2019.
Sunday's championship game will be televised live on ESPN2, and tickets for the game are available through MajorLeagueLacrosse.com/Champ. Media wishing to cover the game are asked to RSVP to Grant Larson at least two hours prior to faceoff.
