October 27, 2020 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL)
Denver Outlaws News Release
In the 20th anniversary of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the Denver Outlaws found themselves in the championship game for the fifth consecutive year. While they did not get the win, 2020 MLL Rookie of the Year Dan Bucaro put on a show.
Bucaro was unguardable all season, recording 13 goals, six ground balls, two assists in six games played.
With MLL legend John Grant Jr. retiring, Denver will rely on Bucaro to lead them back to the championship next season.
Gyms are limiting the number of people who can work out because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bucaro recently ordered kettlebells because so he can stay in shape and train in his apartment in New York City.
The Long Island native is an underwriter for Chubb Insurance in Midtown and just completed his training. He's allowed to go to the office twice a week.
"I'm learning a lot as I go," Bucaro said. "It's been busy. It's kind of like when I started playing lacrosse in the beginning. I'm excited."
Bucaro is looking forward to next season and hopes to get back to capture his first Steinfeld Trophy.
"[I'm looking forward to] seeing my coaches and teammates, and having another opportunity to win a championship that's always the goal." I'd be so excited to see everyone [next year]. We had a good 10 days, but we all still keep in contact, and it'd be great to see and play with them again."
