
Denver NWSL hits 5,280 Season Ticket Deposits

Denver NWSL has received 5,280 season ticket deposits, breaking an NWSL record as the fastest expansion franchise to eclipse 5,000 deposits. The Mile High figure was reached in just three days and comes on the heels of Denver being awarded NWSL's 16th team on Thursday, Jan. 30. Comprised of a robust ownership group that includes local and national investors including Rob Cohen, Project Level, a subsidiary of Ariel Investments led by Chairwoman Mellody Hobson and former Washington Commanders President Jason Wright, FirstTracks Sports Ventures LLC (FTSV), led by siblings Jon-Erik Borgen and Kaia Borgen Moritz, Neelima Joshi and Dhiren Jhaveri and Molly Coors. Denver NWSL is the first women's professional sports team in a major national league to call the Mile High City home.

Denver NWSL made the historic expansion announcement at a press conference at Number 38, where Colorado Governor Jared Polis, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman, controlling owner Rob Cohen, and Denver NWSL Alternate Governor Mellody Hobson shared their excitement about the city's first professional women's soccer team. The event continued with a Supporter Fan Rally hosted in collaboration with For Denver FC, where over 2,000 fans gathered to celebrate the milestone with giveaways and remarks from Cohen, Berman, and Johnston.
To further showcase the city's excitement, iconic Denver landmarks, including Union Station, Ball Arena, Denver City & County Building, Meow Wolf Denver, and the Millennium Bridge, were lit up in pine green.
The new Denver NWSL franchise is finalizing plans for a purpose-built stadium for professional women's soccer and a dedicated, purpose-built performance facility for female athletes. More information will be available as these plans are finalized. Team name, crest, colors, and brand identity will be announced at a later date.
