Brampton Steelheads News Release
Roman Basran's excellent 28-save performance helped the Steelheads win 2-1 in overtime against the Peterborough Petes.
First Period
For the first time since March 7, 2020, the Steelheads squared off with the Peterborough Petes at the historic Peterborough Memorial Centre.
The Steelheads controlled the play with great defence and excellent goaltending in the first period. Starting netminder, Roman Basran, had a productive first frame, stopping all 14 Peterborough shots, including an outstanding save on the Petes' Keegan McMullen.
The Steelheads struck first at the 11:20 mark as Luke Misa scored his third goal of the year on a wide-open rebound shot that went past Petes' netminder Michael Simpson for a 1-0 lead. Max Dodig received the assist.
The league's second-ranked Steelheads penalty kill was successful on their two outings in the opening twenty minutes.

Second Period
Less than a minute into the second period, the Steelheads thought they extended their lead with a goal by Ty Collins at the 57-second mark, but the goal waved off after an official review. The Steelheads tried to capitalize with the man advantage on three separate occasions in the middle frame but could not find paydirt despite establishing good tempo in the attacking zone.
The Petes tied the game at the 7:51 mark as Keegan McMullen shot past the blocker side of Basran. The Steelheads netminder had another solid period despite conceding the goal, keeping the game deadlocked into the third period by stopping nine shots.

Third Period/Overtime
Peterborough appeared to take the lead with the rookie Quentin Page's first career OHL goal at the 1:55 mark, but the goal waved off after an official review.
Basran and the Steelheads defence kept the Petes from stealing the win, containing the Petes offence to ten shots in the final frame. A crucial shot block by Ethan Del Mastro in the closing seconds helped the Steelheads earn at least one point as the game reached overtime.
At the 1:35 mark of overtime, Luca DelBelBelluz won the game for the Steelheads with a dazzling display of athleticism and accuracy by going end-to-end, sliding the puck through Simpson. Charlie Callaghan received the assist on DelBelBelluz's fourth game-winning goal of the season.
