FRESNO, Calif. â The number of Fresno Falcons players currently on the active roster from last year's Taylor Cup Championship team grew to 12 today with the return of defenseman Jason McBain.
McBain spent the first half of this season in Sweden where he recorded 12 points (3g-9a) and was a +15 in 19 games with the Skelleftea club. Last season he joined the Falcons in March after playing in the German Elite League for two seasons. McBain suited up for the team's final seven games of the regular season before playing an integral part in the Championship run. The former fourth round draft pick of the Hartford Whalers, who spent parts of two seasons with the NHL club, registered two goals and four assists in the 15 games of the playoffs.
The Falcons play the final two games of a six-game road trip tonight in Bakersfield and tomorrow at Long Beach before returning home on Sunday to host the Anchorage Aces at 5 p.m. Sunday's game features between-periods entertainment provided by the Zooperstars and posters commemorating Freddie the Falcon's birthday celebration to the first 1,000 fans.
