BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League have announced defenseman Garret Stroshein has been loaned to the Portland (ME) Pirates of the American Hockey League.

Condors Head Coach Paul Kelly, worked out the arrangement with Pirates GM Shawn Simpson and Assistant Coach Mark Kumpel. He will likely play this weekend with the Pirates, who are currently in the middle of their preseason schedule. His stay with the Pirates is not expected to be permanent, although no date has been set for his return to the Condors.

"He's going to see what it's like to play at that level," said Kelly. "He's a big, tough kid who can play a physical role and we wish him the best of luck. It's a great opportunity for him."

Defensemen Guy Dupuis and Jonathan Sorg were the last arrivals to training camp and are now skating with the team. The training camp roster now stands at 29 players.
