Exhibition Game This Saturday Benefits Local Animals

October 2, 2002 - ECHL (ECHL)
Johnstown Chiefs News Release

Johnstown, PA- The Johnstown Chiefs mascots Iron Dog and Iron Puppy are asking for your help! The Chiefs home exhibition game against the Wheeling Nailers this Saturday night has been designated as the Cambria County Humane Society Night.

Tickets for the game are general admission and the cost is $5. In this joint effort by the Chiefs and the Cambria County War Memorial Arena, $1 will go the Cambria County Humane Society for each ticket sold at game.

"We are very fortunate that the Chiefs have given us a home in the War Memorial. Unfortunately there are other animals in the area who aren't treated as nice as we are or don't have homes. We thought doing something like benefiting the humane society will be a great way we can give back to the community," said the Iron Dog.

The Chiefs and the CCWM are also asking that fans bring in a bag of dog food that can go to the humane society. A table will be setup in the lobby for the donations.

"Not only is Saturday night a Chiefs game, it is a night that benefits a good cause. I can't wait to see the people and the kids at the War Memorial, Saturday night at the arena is for the dogs but there won't be a 'flea' market on Sunday," said the Iron Puppy.

Chiefs season tickets are still available. For more information call (814) 539-1799 or 1-800-SLAPSHOT.
