August 13, 2020 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced on Thursday the transfer of centre-back Luis Binks to Bologna FC in Serie A. The English player will remain with Montreal on loan until December 31, 2020.
"Thierry Henry and Olivier Renard believe in him. Acquiring him after arriving from Tottenham is a great addition," said Bologna FC and Montreal Impact global sporting director, Walter Sabatini. "We had an opportunity to see his quality last winter during his first four games with the Impact and more recently in Florida, and we're excited for him to join us. This transfer once again demonstrates the synergy between the two clubs and the new philosophy in place in Montreal."
Binks joined Montreal on February 18, 2020, after arriving from English club Tottenham Hotspur FC. He started both regular-season games earlier this year, as well as two Concacaf Champions League matches, for a total of 360 minutes of play. He then started all four games at the MLS is Back tournament, in July, in Orlando.
Transaction: The Montreal Impact transfers centre-back Luis Binks to Bologna FC in Serie A. Binks is immediately loaned back to the Impact until December 31, 2020.
