Inter Miami CF News Release
Beginning in Troyes, then making a stop in Saint-Ãâ°tienne before enjoying trophy-laden spells while plying his trade in Paris and later in Turin, our Club's newest signing Blaise Matuidi has enjoyed a career at the highest levels of European fútbol. Now, in the newest chapter of his career as a footballer, the French international midfielder will continue to strive to add more successes to his trophy collection while defending the colors of Inter Miami in South Florida.
The World Cup-winner adds a wide array of qualities, including experience, leadership and impeccable work rate to our midfield.
"I'm very happy and honored to join Inter Miami," said Matuidi, who will wear Inter Miami's No. 8.
The Toulouse, France, native has enjoyed a formidable club career to this point, featuring for the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus FC, while collecting numerous titles and individual accolades. Matuidi has won four Ligue 1 titles and three Serie A crowns, among a host of other titles. Individually, he was named French Player of the Year once and was selected to the Ligue 1 Team of the Year twice. Also a French National Team regular starter, Matuidi has racked up 84 appearances for the team and played a key role in the 2018 FIFA World Cup championship run.
Despite already enjoying a widely successful career, the accomplished Frenchman's hunger remains intact as he aims to make history with Inter Miami in the North American soccer landscape.
"I hope we will win a lot of trophies together. It's a big challenge for me," stated Matuidi.
Now, as he awaits his debut for our Club, Inter Miami's newest signing is looking forward to joining his team in South Florida.
"I'm excited to see my new teammates and fans. I hope to do my best and work hard."
