Swift Current Broncos News Release

Jake Debrusk has been selected 14th overall at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

The Boston Bruins used their second of three first round picks to select the Broncos forward.

Debrusk had 42 goals and 39 assists in the 2014-15 season. Most experts had Debrusk pegged as a late first round pick.

"We're very proud of Jake. His hard work and progession from bantam is a perfect example of what we do around here. He's a gifted player and it really shows" said Broncos coach and GM Mark Lamb of Debrusk.

Debrusk was picked 14th overall, the same spot former Bronco Julius Honka was selected one year eariler. For the first time, the franchise has had first round picks in back to back years.

Debrusk is now tied with Honka as the 2nd highest Bronco NHL draft pick of all time.
