Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats Hockey Club congratulates forward Austin Wagner on his selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles The Calgary, AB native was picked in the 4th round, 99th overall.
Wagner was a fifth round pick (94th overall) of the Pats in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. The speedster made his debut in the 2012-13 season, suiting up as an affiliate player for the Blue and White. Wagner earned a spot on the Pats roster as a 16-year old rookie in the 2013-14 season, recording two points (1G, 1A) in 42 games played.
2014-15 was a true breakout season for Wagner as he raced up the Central Scouting rankings throughout the year. It only took five games for Wagner to surpass his totals from the previous season. He went on to post 39 points (20G, 19A) in 61 regular season games and three points (1G, 2A) in nine playoff games.
