Sacramento River Cats News Release

Salt Lake City, Utah. - Two RBIs each from left fielder Austin Dean and third baseman Jason Vosler were not enough to lift the Sacramento River Cats (37-47) to their fifth straight victory, as they fell 12-5 to the Salt Lake Bees (38-46) in Sunday's series finale.

The River Cats originally held a 5-1 advantage thanks to a five-run third.

Singles by catcher Jhonny Pereda, second baseman Donovan Walton, and right fielder Heliot Ramos loaded the bases for Dean, who gave Sacramento its first lead with a clutch two-out two-run single.

Two pitches later, Vosler made it 4-1 when he doubled home designated hitter Willie Calhoun and Dean.

Salt Lake scored a run in the third, a run in the fourth, and three in the fifth to take a 6-5 lead before a five-run seventh against right-handers Patrick Ruotolo and Cody Carroll put the game out of reach and secured the Bees the win.

Entering the day tied for fourth in the league in strikeouts, right-hander Raynel Espinal struck out just two in 4.1 innings, surrendering five runs on seven hits (two home runs) and two walks.

The River Cats will head back west and enjoy an off day before hosting the Albuquerque Isotopes for a six game series at Sutter Health Park. Game one will be on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. (PT). Listen to Johnny Doskow call the game online at rivercats.com or on the MiLB First Pitch app.

Additional Notes

Vosler's RBI double extended his hitting streak to seven games. He is 11-for-29 (.379) with eight runs, two doubles, three home runs, 10 RBIs, and a 1.230 OPS over that span.

Center fielder Bryce Johnson went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two stolen bases, giving him 22 on the season.
