In the box, Albuquerque tallied 11 hits, one double, one triple and one homer. Jonathan Morales led the way tallying a 2-for-3 night with a homer, four RBI and one walk. Alan Trejo went 3-for-5 with three RBI and a double. Kyle Holder and Wynton Bernard also had two hits.
Kauffmann tossed 5.0 innings and allowed just two runs, none earned, on three hits and three walks with four punchouts. Heath Holder (1.0 innings), Matt Dennis (2.0 innings) and Zach Neal (1.0 inning) allowed just three hits the final four frames.
Albuquerque got on the board quickly in the first with an RBI single from Trejo and sac fly by Morales. An inning later, the visitors scored six runs. Bernard started the scoring with an RBI single followed by a two-run single by Trejo. A few batters later, Morales blasted his seventh clout of the year, a three-run shot, to put the Isotopes up 8-0.
In the third, Holder tripled home a run while Bernard tallied another RBI single. Albuquerque led, 10-0.
The Express then scored two unearned runs in the fifth.
Topes Scope: - The six-run second tied (four times) for the second-most runs scored in an inning, one shy of the season high (7, two times, last: July 3 vs. Sugar Land).
-Albuquerque plated double-digit runs for the 20th time this year. They are 17-3 in such contests.
-The two runs allowed marked the seventh time this season Albuquerque has held an opponent to two runs or fewer.
-The Isotopes have hit 129 homers on the year-the most in all of MiLB.
-For the second time in three games and fourth on the year, the Isotopes recorded three errors-one shy of the season-high (April 13 vs. TAC).
-Albuquerque is 2-7-6 over 15 series this year and 0-6-2 on the road. Out of the six series lost on the road, the Isotopes have lost the series, 4-2, four times. The other two have been 5-1 Oklahoma City (April 5-10) and 2-1 El Paso (June 10-12)
-The Isotopes are 8-7 overall in series finales and 4-4 on the road.
-Bernard has reached base at least twice in seven-straight games. During that span, he is hitting .400 (12x30) with 10 runs, one double, one triple, two homers, eight RBI, four walks and four stolen bases. He also stole his 20th base of the year, he has been caught just twice this year (20-for-22) and four times since last year (42-for-46). Additionally, he tallied his team-leading 25th multi-hit effort on the year and team-leading 19th multi-RBI game of the year. He also extended his hit streak to nine games, matching his season-long.
-Morales recorded his 15th multi-hit effort and second four RBI game of the year. The four RBI is one off his career-high (two times, last: 5, May 7, 2021, with Gwinnett at Charlotte). Also recorded his seventh homer in his last 23 games. Had none over his first 19 games.
-Trejo registered his second three-hit game and second three-RBI effort of the year. It marks his first multi-hit contest since July 3 vs. Sugar Land and first multi-RBI game since June 28 vs. Sugar Land. Ended an 0-for-16 slump.
On Deck: After an off-day Monday, the Isotopes will travel to Sacramento to begin a six-game series against the River Cats beginning Tuesday at 7:35 pm MT.
