Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

In front of a capacity crowd at Coca-Cola Park, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs swept the Pawtucket Red Sox out of Allentown with a 3-0 win. It was a day that was highlighted by another great outing from Enyel De Los Santos (4-0), who added seven more scoreless innings to his already stellar season.

De Los Santos lowered his ERA to 0.84, good for second best in the International League, with his third consecutive scoreless outing. The righty retired the last 12 batters he faced, and a first-inning single by Jordan Betts was the only hit allowed on the day. Hoby Milner and Pedro Beato answered the call out of the bullpen, both throwing scoreless innings to secure the sweep. For Beato, it was his third save in as many nights, upping his International League-leading total to 10.

For the third straight game, the IronPigs struck first. This time it was against the highly touted prospect Jalen Beeks (2-2), when Nick Rickles hit a line shot over the left field wall in the second inning for his first Triple-A home run. The Pigs loaded the bases with no outs in the fifth against Beeks, but failed to bring a run home.

Lehigh Valley loaded the bases again in the sixth, this time they were able to score when Andrew Pullin drew a four-pitch walk. Rickles added an insurance run in the eighth when he hit his second solo home run of the day.

Rickles continued to produce for the IronPigs offense, going 3-for-3 with two home runs and a single. Pullin also contributed for Lehigh Valley, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

The Pigs continue their seven-game homestand tomorrow night when they welcome the Buffalo Bisons to the Lehigh Valley. It's Irish Heritage Night at Coca-Cola Park and the extended pre-game happy hour begins at 5 p.m. Tom Eshelman will take the mound for the Pigs, with the first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
