Lancaster Stormers News Release

Luis De La Cruz had the biggest night by an opposing batter this season, going 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI to pace the York Revolution to a 6-1 victory over the Lancaster Barnstormers at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

With the win, York grabbed the lead in the 2015 War of the Roses, three games to two and improved to 4-7 overall. Lancaster dropped to 5-7.

After the Barnstormers struck first on a Blake Gailen RBI single to left, De La Cruz led the comeback charge.

Johan Limonta drove a two-out double into right center off Dan Osterbrock in the top of the fourth, and De La Cruz knotted the game with a double lined into the right field corner. Left fielder Willie Cabrera yanked a single into left to score De La Cruz for a 2-1 lead. Kevin Rivers' throw home skipped past Keith Castillo for an error, allowing Cabrera to race all the way to third, and he scored when Brandon Boggs slapped a single past the diving first baseman David Cooper.

De La Cruz tacked on a two-run homer off Bryan Woodall in the sixth and drove in York's final run of the night with a single to right field in the top of the eighth.

Rommie Lewis (2-0) scattered five hits and a walk over five innings to record his second straight win over Lancaster. The Barnstormers managed only a pair of walks over the final four innings against the Revs bullpen.

The Barnstormers entertain York again on Wednesday at 7:00. Japanese submariner Shunsuke Watanabe will make his 2015 debut for the Barnstormers while York veteran Corey Thurman will hit the mound for the Revs. Fans may tune into 1390-AM, WLAN; 1390wlan.com or the I Heart Radio cell phone app at 6:45.
