Sacramento River Cats News Release

West Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats (22-26) could not take advantage of a stellar start by left-hander Enmanuel De Jesus and a home run by center fielder Heliot Ramos, falling 4-2 to the Salt Lake Bees (27-21) in Sunday's series finale.

De Jesus finished off his Pitcher of the Week campaign with six strikeouts over 5.0 one-hit, shutout innings. In 10 innings this week, the 25-year-old allowed just one run on three hits and four walks while striking out 14.

The two teams were locked in a scoreless tie until the sixth when right fielder Bryce Johnson singled, stole second, and came home on Ramos' fourth big fly of the season.

Leading 2-0 in the seventh, the River Cats' bullpen was stormed for four runs on three singles and three walks off right-handers Norwith Gudiño (0-1) and Taylor Williams.

Right-hander Raynel Espinal (3-1, 3.34) will open the River Cats' series in Las Vegas on Tuesday after the off day. He'll take on Aviators righty Collin Wiles (3-4, 5.82) at 7:05 p.m. (PT). Listen to Johnny Doskow call the game online at rivercats.com or on the MiLB First Pitch app.

Additional Notes

Ramos (2-for-4 on Sunday) has seemingly found his swing, going 6-for-13 (.462) with three runs, a double, two RBIs, and a home run over the final three games of the series.

The River Cats turned two twice, including a unique 4-5-3 double play.

Sacramento right-hander Jeremy Walker struck out two in a scoreless inning of relief.
