Dayton Gems News Release
Dayton, Ohio -The Dayton Gems professional hockey team, a proud member of the Central Hockey League, finished their three game weekend series against division rival Evansville IceMen with their third straight loss on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 5-2 inside the brand new Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. Dayton was able to grab a point over the weekend, battling back in the third period on Saturday to take the game into overtime. The IceMen force the Gems winless streak to four games headed into their second three-in-three weekend of the season starting at home against Bloomington on Thursday and concluding with a road trip to Fort Wayne on Friday and Bloomington on Saturday.

Tuesday, November 8 vs Fort Wayne: 8-2 loss
The Dayton Gems dropped their first home loss of the season to an overpowering Fort Wayne Komets offense by a final score of 8-2 Tuesday night on Cassano's Italian Ice inside the historic Hara Arena. Scoring both goals for the Gems was Brandon Naurato, picking up his third and fourth goals of the season on the powerplay in the second period.
Friday, November 11 vs Evansville: 3-2 loss
Even after outshooting and out-chancing the visiting Evansville IceMen, the Dayton Gems would be unable to get the best of their foe, falling in a hard fought effort 3-2 on Friday night on Cassano's Italian Ice at Hara Arena. Scoring for the Gems was Charlie Townsend in the first period and Matt Larke in the second.
Saturday, November 12 vs Evansville: 3-2 overtime loss
Despite a hard pressed comeback in the third period to send the game into overtime, the Dayton Gems could not overcome an IceMen powerplay in the extra period, ultimately falling to the Evansville IceMen 3-2 for their second loss of the weekend. Scoring for the Gems was Jon Ornelas to lead off the second period and Nick Fanto in the third.
Sunday, November 13 @ Evansville: 5-2 loss
The Dayton Gems would find themselves down early and would not be able to overcome the deficit, ultimately falling to the Evansville IceMen 5-2 inside the Ford Center on Sunday afternoon. Scoring for the Gems was Jon Ornelas and Damian Surma.
