Evansville's Brian Bicek Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

TEMPE, AZ (November 14, 2011) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Evansville's forward Brian Bicek has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending November 13, 2011.

The Downers Grove, Illinois native came up huge this week during the Icemen's three-game series against Dayton. Bicek recorded at least one point in all three outings this weekend, as Evansville earned three wins in the games. At the end of the week, Bicek totaled three goals with two assists and a solid plus/minus rating of +4.

In Friday's 3-2 road win against the Gems, the 5-9, 175-pound forward had a strong presence early on, tying up the game 1-1 while his team was shorthanded and then just 17 seconds later scored another shorthanded goal taking over the league-lead with three SHG's on the season. He carried this production into the next game on Saturday night, collecting one assist in the IceMen's 3-2 win and the stepped up again on Sunday scoring the game winning goal and notching an assist

Evansville remains the lone CHL club without a regulation loss sitting with a 6-0-1 record and the league's best winning percentage (.929). Their 13 points are tied for the second most in the Turner Conference trailing Missouri by two points (Evansville has three games in hand on the Mavericks).
