QUACK TRACKS

Dip

The Mallards suffered back-to-back losses last weekend and have now dropped four of their last five games.

Home and Away The Mallards return home this week in pursuit of their first win of the season at the i wireless Center. The Flock lost its first two home games. After suffering consecutive road losses over the weekend, the Mallards have now dropped three of their last four away from home.

Lead the Way

Brandon Marino (4-7-11) remains the Mallards' leader in points and assists and is tied with Jared Brown (4-4-8), Eric Giosa (4-3-7) and John Snowden (4-3-7) for the club lead in goals. Brown has recorded points in all but one of the Mallards' first eight games. Snowden ranks second in the league in shots on goal (47). Tyler Sheldrake ranks second in the CHL in penalty minutes (47).

Iron Man

The Mallards' Obi Aduba has played 150 straight CHL and International Hockey League games since joining the Mallards two seasons ago. He celebrated reaching the century-and-a-half mark last Saturday night in Tulsa by scoring his first goal of the season.

Red Light District

The Mallards gave up a team single-game season high six goals last Saturday at Tulsa and set another unfortunate season high by allowing four Oiler goals in the second period. All ten goals surrendered by the Mallards last weekend were scored at even strength.

Drought

The Mallards have scored just seven times in their last four games after producing 16 goals in their prior three outings.

Shooting Gallery

While the Mallards still lead the league in shots on goal (39.8 per game), the Flock was outshot in back-to-back games last weekend after outshooting the opposition in each of Quad City's first six games. The Mallards established season lows for shots in a game (23) and in a period (two in the third) last Friday at Wichita.

Special Teams

The Mallards went 1-for-10 on the power play over the weekend. The Flock ranks ninth in the CHL on the man advantage (18.4 percent). The Mallards have killed off their opponents' last 11 power plays over three games. However, for the season Quad City ranks twelfth in the league on the penalty kill (77.8 percent).

Firsts Tyler Gilmore recorded his first professional point- an assist on Jared Brown's goal- last Friday at Wichita.

Conference Call

The Mallards over the weekend dropped what were their first two meetings with Berry Conference opposition. The Flock plays its next six games against foes from the Turner Conference

Ins and Outs

Justin Chwedoruk has missed three games since suffering a concussion November 5 at Dayton. Tyler Sheldrake (illness) missed last Saturday's game at Tulsa.

Head-to-Head

The Mallards swept a pair of games at Bloomington October 28 and 29. The Flock won its only prior meeting with the Komets 3-2 in Fort Wayne last Sunday.
